About Director

Dr. James Raaj completed his academic journey with a Bachelor’s degree from Government College, Port Blair in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, followed by a Master’s degree in English Literature from Pondicherry University. He further enhanced his scholarly credentials with an M.Phil from Madras Christian College, Chennai, and ultimately earned his PhD from the prestigious University of Madras, Chennai.

His remarkable academic achievements include first qualifying the NET examination in 2000, again in 2006, and consistently passing every UGC-NET and SET examination since 2011. Dr. Raaj brings over 24 years of teaching experience from distinguished institutions including Loyola College, St. Joseph’s College, Agni College of Technology, and SRM Institute of Science and Technology in Chennai. He specializes in coaching NET/SET/JRF and TRB candidates while also teaching English Literature to UPSC aspirants. Under his guidance, more than 7,000 candidates were mentored and 480+ students have successfully qualified for NET/SET/JRF and TRB examinations since 2014.

As a prolific scholar, Dr. Raaj has authored more than 12 books across various disciplines, including “Technical English,” “Essentials of Humanities,” and numerous works on English Literature, Literary Theory, and examination preparation guides. His scholarly output also includes over 10 book chapters and 20 research papers published in reputable academic journals.  

Dr. Raaj has also conducted over 50 workshops and delivered guest lectures on diverse topics including Communication Skills, Literary Criticism and Theories, British Literature, Personality Development, NET/SET Examinations, and Civil Services Examinations for students and faculty at numerous academic institutions.
